| I thought it was time for some more pictures of my lovely boy!!
We have had a busy couple of months, our Newfrontiers Family Camp was at the end of May, we had a great w/e, the meetings were powerful and it was a fun time with friends, staying up late, eating junk and catching up. Ewan had a brilliant time, his highlight was the afternoon in the gym where they had live music, including Karl and inflatables. He wanted to go on the inflatable obstacle course numerous times so thankfully our friends all toook turns taking him through and I only had to do it twice! He was Karl's greatest fan, listening, dancing and clapping and then running up the give him a hug when he was done-cute! (Unfrotunately I don't have any photos from Family Camp)
Then it was my birthday and Karl made me a lovely card with some great pics of him and Ewan
He also suprised me by having some of our friends show up at a restaurant where we were going to have dinner, it was a fun evening. But the best suprise was my mum calling about a week before my birthday to say she was coming to see us in less than a week, I couldn't believe it! We had such a wonderful time, we went shoppping and went for coffee and took Ewan to the pool, it was really relaxing.
Ewan was spoiled rotten of course and he loved having his grandma around, he is still talking about her all the time which is a bit sad.
So now we are well into summer but thankfully it hasn't been too hot, we have been spending alot of time at the pool and going to free kids events which has been fun, I love getting to hang out with Ewan every day, he makes me laugh so much!
| I have had some complaints so I am updating after many months of just not getting round to it. Since my last entry I have done two long haul journeys with Ewan, one to England at Christmas just me and him beccause Karl couldn't get the time off, it was great to see family but we missed him alot and I was nervous about flying alone with Ewan but he did very well even when we were delayed. I decided that I should write a book about travelling with young kids because I keep seeing articles in these paren ting magazines and they are so basic, they talk about what you can do to entertain your kid on a four hour flight and how to deal with a 2 hour time change!!!!! they never talk about flying overseas and i'm starting to thing that i have a few tips to share. Anyway our latest adventure was to Australia for Kelly and Dave's wedding, we had a brilliant time. Again, Ewan did well until we were coming in to land in Sydney and then he puked all over himself and Karl, he puked twice more in the airport so by the time we got through immigration all he was wearing was his nappy (diaper), he was sick for the next few days but once he felt better he really enjoyed himself. He loved he beach and he thought the sea was a bath, it was so mush fun taking him in the water and seeing him with his grandparents and auntie and uncle, it was really special, here are a couple of pics:
Isn't he cute?! He's talking loads now and repeating the last word of everything we say so you have to be careful, he's alot of fun and he makes us laugh alot. We have been really busy since we got back but a couple of weeks ago we went down to Lake Ozark, Missouri for a long weekend, Karl had been asked to lead worship at the church down there and they let us use someone's condo so it was really nice and relaxing, here's Ewan drawing ooutside with some chalk:
One of the exciting things thats been happening is that Jubilee church moved into our new building in the city, its so nice to have our own place and it loooks brilliant inside:(I dont have a picture of the inside, but here is the outside!)
we have had alot of guests each week so its been a really good time.
Next week is our family weekend so we are all off to a university campus together, it will be fun, Terry and Wendy will be there which is always good and its a great time to catch up with people we don't see very often. John L was just saying at the prayer meeting tonight that he feels like we will see significant healing this year and i had just been thinking that after reading the latest newfrontiers magazine so we'll see what God does.
| I thought I would join in the fun and do one of those face recognition things, well actually Karl did it for me. We tried four different photos and Mischa Barton (from the OC) came up every time which was strange, I never thought I looked like her!

In other news, all is well, Ewan is changing all the time and being a real boy, getting up to mischief but always looking cute so its hard to be mad at him! Here is a recent photo.
And here is one of him in his usual sleeping position, he always looks sooooo comfy!

| So it's been a while and lots has happened! We had a really great time in England but I think Karl filled you all in on that. It was so good to see all our family and some friends too, of course everyone loved seeing Ewan, he was very spoilt and really enjoyed himself. It was very hard to say goodbye and to leave everybody behind and just to leave England too, I feel so comfortable there.
But things have been good since we got back to St Louis, Jubilee Church is busy, these are exciting times with guests every Sunday and things moving forward with the purchase of a new building.
We had some amazing storms last week that really messed up the city. Wednesday night we were waiting for Amie to come over to babysit, Karl had arranged it so he could take me out to dinner for the first time in months, he was so sweet and I was really excited. Then the storm rolled in without any warning, poor Amie was on the highway at the time and had to turn back to the Lawsons where she was house sitting. I was dissapointed that we couldnt go out and we had resigned ourselves to a night at home when we heard a big 'pop' and the power went out. There was a tree down in the street and sparks flying from the lightning hitting a wire so we knew it would be a while! It was already hot in our apartment so we knew it would be unbearable soon so we woke Ewan up and went over to the Lawsons for the night. We actually ended up staying till Saturday when our power finally came back on, some people still don't have it! Driving around was amazing, there were trees down everywhere and cars crushed and alot of mess.
So thats whats been going on around here. We are all doing well. Ewan is changing all the time, he is so sweet and cheery, he is always smiling and talking to people, I love watching him grow, its fun! Here is a picture of Ewan with his cousin Emily:

| I hope everybody had a lovely Easter. Ewan and I were in Cleveland, Ohio over the weekend and we had a great time, we were at my uncles wedding, i know its random that his wedding would be in cleveland of all places! The short version is that he came from his home in London to a friends wedding in chicago last summer, met a girl, fell in love and after a trans-atlantic romance got married in her home town and will now be living in Chicago. Pretty cool huh? So, anyway my parents and brother were flying in as well as other family so me and ewan made the trip to see everyone. I was worried about how he would do on the plane but he was great, he only had one screaming fit each way and that was understandable-when i had to change his nappy (diaper) in the tiny bathroom. We went shoppping, did alot of walking, ate good food and drank some good wine, beer and cosmopolitans. My brother Oliver was truly amazed by the land of opportunity, he was particularly impressed by the delicious steaks, being asked how he would like his eggs at breakfast and abundant free water in restaurants as well as police carrying guns and the weather (he does live in the north of england so ohio was hot to him!) We laughed alot and enjoyed being together, i was sad to say goodbye but also glad to get back to Karl, we had missed him. So things are back to normal now, but we do have another wedding this weekend which is very exciting, i guess this is the year for weddings-it's like being in brighton again! | | |
